It’s hard to believe 2017 is halfway over. Now is the time of year where the days are the longest and hottest. But the remaining days of 2017 will also be some of the busiest for BIC Media Solutions, the media investment, entertainment and custom book publishing division of BIC Alliance. I’d like to give you a recap of what’s been happen- ing with BIC Media Solutions these past few months and where we are headed the rest of this year.
BIC Media Solutions has launched a speakers bureau, in case you ever need a speaker.
Since 2005, BIC Media Solutions has been connecting investors, filmmakers and publishers to help fund, co-produce and market inspirational and faith/family friend- ly media. Two years ago, we funded and co-produced our first film, “A Gift Horse,” which stars John Schneider, and now we are preparing for our next inspirational and family-friendly film, “Urban Country.” The film is centered around a young, troubled, inner-city girl named Faith, who is put in a juvenile detention center. She is then reunited with her mother, who takes Faith in to live on her farm. Faith discovers her mother is sick and only has a short time to live. “Urban Country” will be a movie about redemption and rebuilding relationships.
“Urban Country” is in the pre-production stages, and we are hoping to release it in late 2017 or early 2018. BIC Media Solutions will be working on this film with the same team that brought “A Gift Horse” to the big screen.
In addition, BIC Media Solutions is underway with co-publishing its latest book: a collaboration with TDS Inc. and Launchpad Writing + Research.
Featuring hard-won wisdom from former operations manager and TDS Founder Barry Hardy, the book provides practical advice to equip new front-line supervisors for their transition from operators to successful supervisors. Sharing real plant lessons from an operations manager who takes a new shift supervisor under his wing, this book is a must-read for all new supervisors. It will serve as a highly useful reference for new supervisors and the managers responsible for their training and development, weaving in real scenarios, lessons learned and suggested techniques from industry experts. It is scheduled to be released before the end of this year. Reserve your copy now at TDShou.com/book.
BIC Media Solutions has also been sharing and distributing several copies of its other books at large industry events, including the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston and the AFPM Reliability & Maintenance Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans. Other BIC Media Solutions titles include “It’s What We Do Together That Counts: The BIC Alliance Story,” “Earl’s Pearls: Jewels of Wisdom Worth Passing On,” “Louisiana Sports Legends and Heroes: Leaving a Legacy,” “Michael Learns To Listen,” “Turner Industries: Fifty Years of Industrial Innovation,” “Industry Achievers,” “Energy Entrepreneurs” and “Rock Bottom and Back — From Desperation to Inspiration.”
We have expanded BIC Media Solutions to offer f ilming of company promotional videos, training seminars and events like our recent crawfish boil. By partnering with Mission Media Productions, we released a short video that features my favorite tips on networking. These tips can be used at any trade show or industry event. I encourage you to visit BICMediaSolutions.com and share this video with your sales and marketing personnel. In addition to the network- ing video, Mission Media Productions helped us create a video of testimonials from current BIC Alliance marketing partners. This video can be viewed on BICMagazine.com.
We have also launched a speakers bureau, in case you ever need a speaker. BIC Media Solutions plans to add several more speakers throughout 2017 to its speak- ers bureau. BIC Media Solutions is looking for speakers who are experts on topics such as energy, management, sales and motivational speaking. To view a full list of our speakers, visit BICMediaSolutions.com/ speakers-bureau.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of 2017 has in store for BIC Media Solutions!

BIC Media Solutions’ Casey Lott, left, and Earl Heard recently attended the “Blessing of the Bikes” in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The event marked the unofficial opening of the 2017 motorcycle-riding season.
