BIC Media attends film festivals, media events across U.S.
BIC Media Solutions (BMS) regularly participates in some of the largest film festivals, screenings and other media events in the Southeast and beyond.
BIC Alliance CEO and Founder Earl Heard spoke at the Christian Media Association’s Media Summit in Dallas in October. During the summit Heard also sat down with Theresa Westbrook for an interview segment (view here) in which he discussed the importance of faith, family, kindness toward others and leaving a legacy.
Earlier this year, Heard spoke at the Christian Worldview Film Festival in San Antonio about his experiences in the film industry and promoting BMS’ first feature film, “A Gift Horse.” In his presentation, he discussed the lessons learned by a first-time investor.
In 2014, BMS sponsored a panel at the New Orleans Film Festival. The panel, titled “Light Industry: New Sources of Film Investment,” featured business and industry professionals who are involved in various areas of the film industry. Louisiana executive director of film, Stephen Hamner, moderated the event. Nearly 100 independent filmmakers from New Orleans and beyond filled the room to gather advice from experienced film industry professionals.
BMS also hosted a VIP red carpet premiere screening of “A Gift Horse.” Hundreds of people gathered at the AMC Mall of Louisiana to attend the complimentary screening, substituting the cost of a ticket with canned goods to donate to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Audience members were given the opportunity to walk the red carpet with lead actor John Schneider (“The Dukes of Hazzard”), as well as several other cast members and filmmakers involved in making “A Gift Horse” a success. “The film, attendance at the event and the response on our BMS Facebook page created a great experience,” said Heard. “Everyone had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the movie!”
IVS Investment Banking partner John Zapalac attended the American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica, California. At AFM, Zapalac met with “A Gift Horse” distributor Lise Romanoff of Vision Films, as well as several other film industry enthusiasts. “It was a great learning and networking experience,” said Zapalac. “Lise Romanoff at Vision Films was very helpful, and we made some great connections.”
